Financial information presented here is for Friends of Bonobos-US. Les Amis des Bonobos du Congo (ABC), a nonprofit founded in 1994, pursues a comprehensive environmental protection program that includes a bonobo sanctuary, reintroduction to the wild, habitat protection, conservation education, and community development programs. ABC rescues orphaned bonobos from the illegal bushmeat trade, heals them, and provides lifetime care to them at Lola ya Bonobo sanctuary near Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
